We’re Here to Help Make Sense of the FullCAM Method
We’re here to help you get the best returns for your carbon project by taking the guesswork out of the FullCAM Method.
Let’s break it down…
What Exactly Does FullCAM Mean?
FullCAM stands for Full Carbon Accounting Model and is a calculation tool built from climate, soil and biomass data that has been recorded since the 1970s.
Basically, the Emission Reduction Fund uses this historic data to calculate carbon credits under their Reforestation by Environmental and Mallee Planting – FullCAM Method (yep, it’s a mouthful).
Using this data, you can predict how much carbon you will sequester if you plant trees over a specific area. The beauty of this government model is that the amount of carbon credits you earn is based on this estimate which is outlined at the beginning of your project.
Some quick maths…
The FullCAM model estimates the tonnes of Carbon Dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) stored by planting trees in a specific area.
1 tCO2e = 1 Carbon Credit
The more tCO2e = the more Carbon Credits = the more money you earn from your project.
How We Have Integrated the FullCAM Model Into Carbon Scout?
Using the FullCAM model data, Carbon Scout provides a spatial imagery platform to help you identify carbon yields across your farm.
With the software, you can pinpoint the highest yielding areas across your farm, to determine your exact carbon yields and what you will get paid when undertaking a tree carbon project on your property.
There are four ways for you to interpret the FullCAM data – boundaries, points, plots and heatmaps.

Boundaries provides us with the outline and total hectares of your property.
The boundaries can either be uploaded from a pre-existing GIS file or manually drawn out in the software.

Identifying carbon yields at a specific point on your property.
This feature is useful if you want to identify the carbon yield (tCO2e) at particular locations across your property. It provides you with a yield amount for the 1 ha area surrounding your selected ‘point’.

Carbon Scout’s secret weapon to unpacking your farm’s carbon potential
The Carbon Yield Heatmap enables you to quickly identify the highest carbon yielding areas over your entire farm. We’ve designed this using real FullCAM data, meaning you can target the best yielding carbon areas on your farm – and know you’ll be paid for the exact FullCAM values.
By allowing you to uncover the high carbon areas around your property (and therefore avoiding lower payment areas), we believe our heatmap is an essential tool to maximise results for anyone considering undertaking a tree carbon project using the FullCAM method.
